Fiancée’s Gift Exploded… My Friend Paid

On New Year's Eve, Dr. Liam is on duty in the emergency room when a patient is brought in with a severe genital injury. The woman accompanying him is Chloe, Liam's fiancée, her hands soaked in blood as she begs him to operate. Embedded in the wound are shards of a sex toy Liam had bought her two days earlier, and the patient is Blake, his best friend. Liam puts on his gloves and tells her to pay the fee and sign as the responsible party.

After the surgery, Chloe pleads for forgiveness while Blake taunts him from the bed. When Blake's wound is later dressed, Chloe shoves Liam, who strikes his back on a metal cabinet. She files a complaint, and the director suspends Liam, offering to drop the matter if he apologizes. Liam agrees, then bows before Blake and the gathered onlookers, stating his skills were too poor to stitch up that rotting hole.

From his pocket he draws a yellowed pathology report and places it on the bedside table, telling Chloe it is time to settle a score from three years ago. Her pupils contract at the sight of the paper.
