The story
Sadie has rebuilt her life alone in a coastal city, far from the family that drained her earnings, blocked her career and left her to pay for a surgery she never received. When a typhoon warning sounds, her parents, her brother Charlie, his wife and their son arrive at her new home uninvited, luggage in hand, ready to take it over as they always have.
In her last life, Sadie obeyed. She gave up the master bedroom, slept on the balcony, and went out into the storm to buy fried chicken for her nephew, only to be swept away by the wind and killed. Now she has woken on the day before the typhoon, with her body intact and the memory of dying still cold in her bones.
This time she packs her valuables, books a train and a flight to her best friend, and lets her relatives walk through the door to find the house already emptied of everything they came to claim.
