The 24-Hour Marriage

After a wedding three months in the planning, Audrey Vance decides on a divorce after a single night. Her new husband, Gary, sends her a thousand dollars before bed, then another two thousand in the middle of the night, marked "Final Payment." The next morning she announces her intention to divorce him in front of his parents, whose hands are still outstretched with wedding gifts.

At his office at Cross Enterprises, Gary's secretary, Lily Marsh, blocks her path and urges her to know when to quit, while employees praise Gary's devotion. His parents plead with her to talk things through, and his father offers ten percent more of his company shares. His mother warns that Audrey's father's company still needs their help.

Audrey refuses every offer and walks away. Downstairs her cousin Leo, a private investigator sent by her father, tells her the pictures she sent are solid and the rest of the proof will arrive by afternoon.
