Chapter 1The Hate-Love Game

My husband, Adrian, and I are known for our mutual hatred.

I just suggested we sleep in separate rooms, but then I saw a row of comments floating in the air.

[Is the female side character stupid? Bringing up separate rooms out of the blue is suspicious.] [Over a hundred chapters in and still sleeping separately? This story is meaningless without some action.] [Don't worry, sis. After the male lead agrees, the side character tries to elope with her boy toy. The male lead goes dark, and they'll be doing it non-stop.] [But the male lead has such long fingers... I'm afraid she won't be able to handle it.]

Terrified, I scrambled back under the covers and quickly changed my tune:

"Actually, let's keep sleeping together. I think I kinda like you."

Hearing my insincere words, Adrian chuckled in disbelief.

"Playing with me again?"

My fingertips traced down his collarbone.

Adrian's abs tensed up immediately, his breathing growing heavy.

"Ha, I'm not one of the fish in your pond. You think I'll take the bait that easily?"

The comments in front of me scrolled frantically.

[Male lead, keep being stubborn. Every time she teases you, you kiss her.] [Honestly, the male lead's body is nosebleed-worthy. Broad shoulders, narrow waist. I'd trade souls with her just for the free luxury cars and mansions.] [Why are you so greedy upstairs?] [Ahhh, don't stop! Look at the veins popping on his abs! He's losing control!]

I yanked my hand back, cheeks burning.

My flustered expression didn't escape Adrian.

He chuckled, leaning in to lock eyes with me.

Those bottomless eyes seemed to see right through me.

"Scarlett, didn't you want to kill me before?"

"Why so forward all of a sudden?"
