Story

The story

Seraphina runs an empire and treats men as assets. Leo, a college boy she keeps as a live-in stand-in, cooks for her and waits on her calls, while she funds his mother's medical bills and his father's gambling debts. Then Julian Cole, the new king of indie cinema and the man who once fled their engagement to find himself in Europe, walks back into her life at Leo's birthday dinner and demands she get rid of the boy.

Leo kneels and begs not to be sent away; her friends fawn over Julian and call Leo a mere replacement built to his specs. Seraphina lets them talk, spends the night with Julian, and returns to her meetings, her company Shang Media, and a suitcase Leo is packing. She settles him with money and a doubled allowance, then signs Julian to her agency and sends him to a reality dating show on a private island she owns, bringing Leo along.

When Julian calls and hears another man's voice, his tone turns to ice and he orders the boy out. Seraphina believes only in power, but two men are no longer content to be managed.

He saw us together and his eyes went red. "I'm back. Get rid of him."
