Story
The story
Maren is an eternal, cursed to rise again after every death, and her fortune in the billions has only ever drawn killers. To end her immortality she must find someone who loves her and does not care for her money, and after lifetimes of searching she believes she has found him in Nathan.
Nathan does not want her wealth, but he does not love her either. On a cold surgical table, without anesthesia, he opens her chest and drains her blood into Valerie, the high school sweetheart whose failing organs he is determined to replace with Maren's. He knows she is an eternal, and he calls the harvest love.
As her body is dismantled, Maren warns him that taking the flesh and blood of an eternal carries consequences he cannot handle. When she wakes, submerged in formaldehyde, her cells knitting back together, Nathan is watching.
