Story
The story
On move-in day, Ava hands out welcome gifts to her new roommates, but one refuses, accusing her of flaunting her family's wealth and trying to buy friends. Ava fires back, and the other roommates, Mia and Chloe, side with her, leaving the girl isolated.
When Ava offers cash for small favors and sends coffee money in the class group chat, the tension hardens. The roommate files a formal bullying complaint with their advisor, Ms. Davis, who sees through the one-sided story and dismisses it. At freshman orientation, in the Austin heat, Ava tries to pay an upperclassman to fetch water for the exhausted group, and the roommate erupts again, accusing her of flaunting her father's money.
Ava refuses to apologize for her generosity, and the two remain locked in a bitter clash over class, pride and kindness.
