Prisoner of His Bed

For five years, Nora has been with Alistair Finch, the heir to the Finch fortune and the boss at Apex Group, where she is a junior employee. When she finally raises the subject of marriage, he only smiles and reminds her that she is free to walk away at any time, certain she will back down as she always has. This time, though, Nora has made a bet with someone: whether Alistair Finch will be willing to marry her. If she loses, she will disappear for good.

In London for business, Nora listens to her mother press her about a future son-in-law, and she gives Alistair an opening, suggesting he come home with her for the New Year. He refuses to be tested, insisting that what they have is enough and that a piece of paper changes nothing. His words leave her calm rather than heartbroken, and when her best friend Jenna calls, she says only that a man like him would never marry her.

Nora knows the space between them is a dead end, yet she has spent years clinging to the comforts he provides. The wager is set, and this time she cannot simply surrender.
