Story
The story
Aria works in entertainment media and keeps her marriage to Blake Davis, a wealthy heir, a secret from her colleagues. When a famous actress is photographed at a rich heir's apartment, Aria's coworkers gossip about a possible wedding, unaware that she is Blake's wife — or, more precisely, his ex-wife. Divorcing him was her idea; he believed she was only throwing a tantrum and told her to leave with nothing but the clothes on her back.
Six months later, Blake calls and orders her to come back to the family estate. There his mother fusses over Aria's health, his grandfather asks about her job, and Blake serves her soup as if nothing has changed. On the drive home, another woman's voice whines over his phone, and he answers her coldly while watching Aria's reaction.
Aria has Leo, who texts that he cannot sleep without her, yet the familiar pull of the Davis household refuses to let go.

I froze, my hand instinctively flying to my shirt buttons. "Okay."
"Okay?"
"It's too late now. Taxis are expensive," I said, reaching for the bag he'd tossed onto the table, pulling out my phone to check the time. "You can leave tomorrow morning."
His beautiful eyes fixed on me, saying nothing.
"If you can't wake up," I added, my voice incredibly soft, "tomorrow afternoon works too."
He reached out, grabbing my outstretched hand. His six-foot-plus frame suddenly loomed, an overwhelming presence.
