Story
The story
Three years after leaving Crest Harbor in disgrace, Ranna Beaumont returns, not to her family's estate but to the cemetery. There she meets her brother Rhys, who asks why she never came home. She says nothing of the terminal cancer diagnosis in her hand, nor of the grave plot she has just reserved.
The Beaumonts long ago withdrew their love: they blame Ranna for their mother's death, they gave her mother's handmade wedding dress to Savannah Davies, and they let Grayson Sterling, her childhood protector, turn against her. Now Savannah is to marry Grayson, and Ranna has come back only to claim the last two things her mother left her.
But the house she once fled still holds everyone who condemned her, and none of them know she is dying.
