Story
The story
Aubrey Hayes wakes in a hospital bed with no memory of her life, learning from the couple beside her that she is their biological daughter, once the Albright heiress, kidnapped as a child and replaced in their hearts by an adopted girl, Clara Miller. Her husband, Liam Sterling, CEO of Sterling Enterprises, married her only after a drunken mistake at a party, and he has reserved all his coldness for her ever since. Desperate for notice, she has attempted to end her life more than a hundred times.
When Clara is brought in after a car accident, Liam drags Aubrey to donate blood, kissing her only to make her comply. Watching him tend Clara, Aubrey feels nothing. With her memories gone, she quietly resolves to escape: she contacts a lawyer for a divorce and a severance of parental ties, and visits the immigration office.
Back at the mansion, a leather-bound diary falls open before her, its first page written in messy, drunken handwriting.

A middle-aged couple sat by her bed. Seeing her eyes open, they immediately frowned. “How much longer are you going to keep this up?”
“Liam was supposed to marry Clara. You were just a consequence of a drunken mistake, an accident that forced his hand,” the woman said, full of impatience. “It’s normal that he doesn't love you, or come home. But you? You constantly threaten him with suicide. After all these years, can you name one time he’s visited you after any of these attempts?”
