Story
The story
Jack has lived this day before. His wife Mia, a famous outdoor adventure influencer, is preparing to climb the treacherous Boulder Mountain with her collaborator Henry, and in his first life Jack blocked her path. The storm came anyway, a landslide killed Henry, and Mia blamed Jack for it, poisoning him slowly until he died in a hospital bed. Now he has woken on the same morning, three years earlier, with the same choice before him.
This time Jack steps aside and lets Mia walk out the door. The rain returns, the warnings sound, and Boulder Mountain collapses again. When her call lights up his phone, he simply watches it ring, remembering the hatred in her voice as she blamed him for a death that was never his fault.
He has been given a second chance, and he intends to let her live with the consequences of the path she chose.
Opening excerpt
In my previous life, the two of them planned a dangerous trek through the mountains. I thought it was far too risky, so I stopped her from going that day and kept her at home.
Not long after, it started pouring rain. A landslide struck, and the male influencer was crushed to death by falling rocks.
But instead of being grateful, my wife resented me for it.
