The Pyro-Calypse: Burn All Evil Away

Tamara once worked at a secret overseas research lab, where she learned that a catastrophic heat event called the pyro-calypse was coming. She quit and flew home to Chernia, hoping to gather her mother Dorothy Locke, her brother Nicholas Kennedy, and his wife Millie Sanders and hide out in the mountains. But her family, who had lived off the money she wired home and the rent from her three properties, had other plans: they drugged her, bound her, and left her on the balcony to die in the rising heat so her assets would pass to them.

Now Tamara wakes on the very day she first returned home, a week before the pyro-calypse. This time she keeps the truth to herself, checks into a motel, and walks into the family apartment with only a sling bag and a hired man waiting downstairs as her supposed colleague. She installs hidden surveillance and quietly sabotages the apartment's appliances, all while plotting the punishment her family deserves.
