Betrayed at the Mall by My Wife

A man takes his young daughter Ellis shopping at the mall that belongs to his wife, Ford. Because he buys nothing and rarely visits the properties held in his name, the mall manager, Joel, sneers at them as broke losers and calls his wife, claiming a stranger is impersonating her husband and daughter. Sales associates pin the man to the floor, and Joel drags Ellis by the hair, slaps her, and throws her against a glass railing until she bleeds. When the man breaks free and shoves Joel, security guards seize them both and separate father from daughter.

Joel tells the gathering crowd that the pair came to steal a watch worth a million dollars, and the onlookers turn hostile. In the struggle the man tears off Joel's tie and recognizes it as the custom-made rose-red tie Ford gave him on their fifth anniversary, the one she said the housekeeper had thrown away. Joel says he took it from his wife's house. As the man demands answers, Joel's follower drags Ellis away by the hair, down the stairs and out of sight, while the guards hold him down.
