Story

The story

On her first day of college, a scholarship student falls for Robert, the campus tyrant and son of the university's biggest donor. She keeps her crush secret, until the most popular girl in class, Melinda, accuses her of stealing a lipstick. Robert looks at her with disgust and asks whether her poor parents never taught her not to steal. They never did; they died when she was very young. Forced to drop out, she later hears that Robert took a leave of absence in his senior year for a severe depression that lasted ten years.
