Mom Died Alone, and My Husband Knows How It Happened

Cornelia has spent three years married to Noel Seyfertt, a man who trusts his childhood friend Brianna Bridgers over his own wife. When Cornelia leaves on a business trip, Noel and Brianna go away together, leaving her paralyzed mother alone at home. Her mother calls for help, but no one comes; by the time Cornelia returns, her mother is dead of a heart attack.

Noel shows no remorse, and the day after the funeral he brings Brianna into the house. Cornelia finds Brianna wearing her mother's wristwatch, the one she never took off, and demands answers. Noel turns on her, threatening to smash the watch unless she apologizes, then shatters it anyway when Brianna provokes her.

As Cornelia packs to leave, Brianna presses her about her mother's whereabouts. Cornelia plays security footage in which Brianna's voice threatens the helpless woman, calling her a useless old hag and telling her to die. The truth of what happened behind that locked door is finally in the open.
