His Regret: My Ex-Husband Wants Me Back

On the day of her mother's funeral, Beth Cox's husband is nowhere to be found. She stands in the funeral home lobby clutching the urn, sending him message after message, until Melvin finally rushes in still wearing his court robes. The words pour out of her — every hurt, every accusation — but he cuts her off: her mother is gone, and he has an important wedding to attend tonight.

When Beth threatens divorce, Melvin does not soften as he always has. Instead she comes face to face with Jeanette Pruitt, the intern he once dismissed as talentless, now his partner and personal assistant. Melvin calls Beth a shrew, takes Jeanette's side, and drives away with her, leaving Beth trembling on the pavement.

Once, Melvin admired the very voice everyone else fled from. Now the woman who always had too much to say finds she has nothing left to say at all.
