I Chose My Mom. My Girlfriend Chose Death

Leo has spent three years with Chloe, and the dinner where he introduces her to his parents should be a happy one. Then Chloe asks him the question no one expects: if his mother Eleanor and she were both drowning, who would he save? Cornered, Leo answers that he would choose his mother. Chloe takes a fruit knife from the table and kills herself in front of the family.

At Chloe's funeral, grief gives way to dread. Back home, Eleanor turns to Leo's father Richard and asks him the very same question. When he finally answers that he would save her, she accuses him of lying and drinks pesticide. She dies before reaching the hospital.

Leo's friend Noah Miller cannot believe that two women asked the identical question before dying. Then Leo's uncle Walter Shaw calls in terror: his wife Joyce has gone mad and is trying to kill him. At the house, Joyce stands covered in blood, scissors in hand, and asks Walter the same question. Leo screams at his uncle not to answer.
