Story

The story

Five years ago, Elena's husband Cassian abandoned her for a human maid named Seraphina, leaving her pregnant and alone in the vampire territories. He refused even to hear news of her, and she lost the baby. Now Cassian has returned with Seraphina, and when he sees the young boy beside Elena, he assumes the child is his own.

Elena tells him the boy is the son she has with her current husband, but Cassian refuses to believe her, convinced she is still sulking and using the child against him. He declares he will take the boy to the human world, and Seraphina offers to help raise him.

Elena stands her ground, insisting the child is not his, while Cassian's senses have dulled and he cannot read the boy's bloodline. She orders them thrown out.
