Rotten Love on Rainy Days

On the eve of his wedding, Stevie Santana cancels the ceremony and goes to the hospital alone for a major operation. In the hallway he meets a doctor he knows, and he admits the truth: his fiancée, Willa Jenner, is downstairs with her lover, Hugo Stanley, for a prenatal checkup. A private investigator Stevie hired arrives with a paternity test confirming the baby Willa carries is Hugo's.

Stevie still wants to give Willa one last chance. From a window he watches her stroll through the garden nestled against Hugo, then calls her for help with his surgery. She declines his calls, snaps at him, and hangs up, telling him to bring a maid instead. After the operation, Willa and Hugo find him in the corridor; she lends Hugo the umbrella Stevie needs and dismisses his pain as fussing.

Something in Stevie hardens. He calls the investigator again and orders the private photos of the pair printed by the tens of thousands, the new house covered with them, and the pictures stuffed into tomorrow's fireworks.
