The Succession Gala They Forgot Was Mine Too

In the Moretti family, twins Beth and Monica were meant to share a succession gala. Beth inherits the weapons business in Naples, praised by their parents Vincent and Elena Moretti, while Monica stands ignored in a corner. Only when an elder asks what Monica will take over do the parents freeze; Beth laughs that it is nothing important. Monica has quietly been given the family armory, though no one told her.

Sent to boarding school at four and left to raise herself, Monica has always been the daughter they could forget. After the gala, her family leaves with Beth without her. She accepts the Turner family's invitation and books a flight to Milan, packing her life into a single backpack.

As her parents prepare Beth's villa in Naples, no one asks where Monica is going or how she will get there. She leaves the old fountain pen behind and boards her flight, ready to make them forget her for good.
