The story

The day after Eileen gives birth to Alpha Albert's son, he orders her to surrender the Luna Suite to Chloe, his old flame, whose pregnancy he claims needs the room's rare moonlight energy. When Eileen protests that their newborn pup needs it too, Albert insists he owes Chloe and calls it a small sacrifice, as he has done many times before.

Eileen agrees calmly, then asks her father, the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, to take her home and contacts Sarah, a Werewolf Council enforcer and lawyer, about severing the mate bond. That night she enters Albert's study and finds pack records showing her dowry of moonstones and healing potions was secretly given to Chloe, along with messages promising Chloe a Moon-Soul Herb that Eileen once begged for and was denied.

She photographs the evidence and sends it to Sarah, resolved to reclaim what is hers and end the bond. The next morning, Albert brings her breakfast, but a scream from outside sends him running.
