Story

The story

Olivia has spent a year abroad for further study, and she returns home to find her husband Liam living with Adeline, who is pregnant with his child. Liam's parents welcome Adeline and the baby, while Olivia, a doctor, is treated as an outsider in her own home. Liam explains that Adeline once saved his life and is terminally ill, and that he wanted to fulfill her wish to become a mother; he asks Olivia to accept the child as her own.

Olivia has already submitted a report to the United Nations. In one week she will renounce her citizenship and join Doctors Without Borders, leaving Liam and his family behind forever. Before she goes, she agrees to attend the baby's full moon celebration, where she intends to give them a surprise they will not forget.
