After Hurting Me to the Point of Being Battered, He Was Heartbroken

Five years after their breakup, Amelie Scott runs into Matthew Graham at a club, where he sits with Georgia Mitchell and mocks her fall from grace. To protect her family's struggling Scott Group, she accepts his cruel wager: five million dollars for every glass of whiskey she drains. She drinks until she can barely stand, and Matthew finally stops her.

He takes her to a strange room and offers a contract to keep her as his mistress, ten million a month, while Scott Group's stock crashes and her father lies in the ICU. Cornered, Amelie signs, selling herself to the man who once loved her and now seems to hate her.

Georgia bursts in the next morning and throws hot milk at her, but Matthew barely reacts, calling Amelie useful. As he orders her to change for a meeting, Amelie must decide how much of herself she is willing to trade for her family's survival.
