After I Kicked Out My Ungrateful Roommate, I was Framed

Janessa shares her mother's city-center apartment with her classmate Aleena Cooley and another roommate, Carly, charging them only two hundred dollars a month against a rent of over ten thousand. On moving day Aleena sets three rules: no boyfriends or male friends, no leaving kitchen messes, no disturbing others' rest. Within a week she breaks all three, cooking for her boyfriend, fighting with him all night, and sneaking him and his friends in, leaving Carly to face strange men in the living room.

When Janessa confronts her, Aleena refuses to move out and blocks her. Then, on exam day, Janessa finds her admission ticket missing, returns home, and discovers Aleena and her boyfriend on her own bed, the ticket soaked and used as an ashtray. Cornered behind a locked door, the pair mock her, and Aleena threatens to have her boyfriend post nude photos he secretly took of Janessa online.
