Story

The story

Seraphina Mooncrest has always known her future mate would be one of two Alpha candidates, Mitchell or Jax, and that she would one day stand as Luna of the Blackwood pack. But when she and Elara Thorne, an Omega stray the pack took in, are captured by the Nightshade pack, the two Alphas use their only dose of the life-saving Moonpetal herb on Elara. To survive the fire, Seraphina forces a shift; the power backfires and leaves her face disfigured. She wakes to find Mitchell and Jax weeping over an untouched Elara, calling her the real Luna in their hearts.

Seraphina cuts the mate bond for good. Her mother Lyra urges her to go through with the mating ceremony anyway, but Seraphina refuses, asking instead to leave for the neutral Havenwood Sanctuary to learn the ancient moon magic and restore the honor of the Mooncrest pack. Mitchell and Jax, certain she meant to harm Elara, warn her to stay away and order her to cover her face before the ceremony.

Now Seraphina must decide how to end a bond and a destiny she no longer wants, while the two Alphas who cast her aside refuse to let her go.
