Story

The story

Tabitha Samson has spent ten years in a world that was never her own. She came as an outworlder with a mission: to save Kieran Lowe, the grieving boy who grew into the CEO of Lowe Group. When her task was done, she chose to stay, married him, and built a life with their son, David Samson Lowe. To the public, Kieran is the devoted husband who flies home overnight for her birthday, and David is the little boy who swears he will always protect her.

But the vows have already scattered. Behind her back, Kieran and David have built another home with a female assistant, Summer Dabney, calling her baby and Ms. Dabney while Tabitha believed herself loved. The wedding promise was clear: should Kieran ever betray her, she would vanish from this world. Now Tabitha has asked the system to activate her exit, and in half a month she will leave them both.

As her birthday cake melts and her husband and son walk back through the door with gifts and gentle words, Tabitha hides her resolve behind a bitter smile. The countdown has begun, and the family she once trusted has no idea.

Opening excerpt

The system responds to Tabitha Samson immediately.

"Understood, Tabitha. Exit procedures are now activated. You'll be able to leave this world in half a month."

Weirdly enough, the system, which has always followed its own programming, pauses for a few seconds. It soon brings up a question, its tone slightly confused.

"You have a husband who dotes on you and a son who always takes your side, Tabitha. Isn't this your home? These people are your family, you know."
