The Lover My Brain Chose to Forget

Three years ago, Elena Mancuso pushed her boyfriend, Niccolo Moretti, into the sea, though he could not swim, and left with another man. Niccolo survived, saved by the Greco family, and is now betrothed to their principessa, Bianca Greco. Everyone calls Elena heartless, but she has been diagnosed with anterograde amnesia, as if an eraser wiped every trace of Niccolo from her mind.

When Niccolo and Bianca encounter Elena at the restaurant where she now works as a waitress, he mocks her fallen family and accuses her of faking her lost memory. Bianca taunts her coldly, warning her away from her fiancé. Elena remembers nothing of them, yet a strange ache stirs when she sees their joined hands. Her memo app holds a pinned note: she has a boyfriend named Niccolo, the love of her life.

Her doctor, Leo Aversa, notes that her passcode, 1018, is Niccolo's birthday. As buried fragments begin to shift, Niccolo demands she answer for the past she cannot recall.
