Chloe blinked at Liam and playfully stuck out her tongue.

I clenched my fists. The next second, I heard Liam perfectly play along with an "Mhm."

Chloe's smile grew even wider.

I laughed at myself inwardly.

The other guests quickly tried to smooth things over:

"Don't be mad, Jo. Chloe loves to joke around!"

"This is Josephine's private life. We shouldn't pry too much."

I was about to speak when a male voice came from the doorway:

"Excuse me, is Jo here? I'm here to pick her up from work."
