Story
The story
After a lifetime spent sacrificing everything for Ziad Prescott, Harper wakes on the day of their final exams with her memories intact. In her past life, she chased after Ziad when he sped off after Stella, missed her exams, and gave up aerospace engineering to become his nurse. He repaid her devotion by calling her a live-in maid and leaving his fortune to Stella. This time, she walks back inside and finishes her exams while Ziad crashes alone.
At the hospital, Ziad's parents, Valerie and Christophe, are devastated. Because no one followed him, he lay trapped in the wreck for over an hour, and the surgeons warn that amputation is terrifyingly likely. Ziad wakes convinced his legs are merely numb from anesthesia, but they will not move.
Harper stands apart, staring at her own unmarked hands, free of the calluses his care left behind. She has been reborn, and this life belongs only to her.
Opening excerpt
The memories of that exam day in my past life returned with terrifying clarity. Standing outside the hall, my eyes fixed on that familiar car in the distance. Everything came rushing back. Last time, he’d sped like a madman after his first love and crashed horribly. To pull him from the wreck, I missed two critical exams.
