Love Is Over

Adriana's daughter wishes for a family trip, and her husband Simon suggests hiking a mountain. On the trail, mother is left behind; rain, a broken trekking pole and a steep cliff send her falling. She wakes in a hospital to overhear Simon and their daughter Vivian planning to donate her kidney to Aunt Kourtney so Simon can finally be with her. Feigning unconsciousness, Adriana listens as they consent to the surgery on her behalf. Just as the anesthetic is injected, she opens her eyes and refuses.

Back in her ward, Simon and Vivian pretend relief, but Adriana overhears them again: her fall was no accident, and Vivian urges her father to trick her mother into another hike. When Kourtney appears at the door, coughing blood, Simon agrees to the surgery at once. Adriana discharges herself and returns home, where Simon's sudden concern cannot hide what she now knows.
