Story
The story
Elara Brooks has spent six years repaying a debt of gratitude to Old Mr. Sterling Hayes, who funded her education when she was an orphan. In return, she agreed to approach his heir, Asher, and bear him a child, hoping to make him forget Serena, his adopted sister. Elara married Asher and gave birth to their son, Leo, performing her duties without complaint. But when Serena returns, Asher's suppressed affections reignite, and Leo grows distant from his own mother.
With the six-year agreement over, Elara asks Old Mr. Sterling Hayes to approve of Asher and Serena being together, and he agrees, leaving the divorce for her to tell Asher herself. On her way out, a runaway truck crashes into her car on Bayfront Road. She wakes in the hospital as the sole survivor, but Asher ignores her calls and Leo dismisses her with a cold message.
