Love Scattered by the Wind Hatred Drowned in Oblivion

On New Year's Eve, which is also her anniversary, Jasmine Delgado watches Simon Henson order the dishes she chose cleared away for his adopted sister, Sarah Henson. When Sarah's tears bring his anger down on Jasmine, Simon carries Sarah out, leaving Jasmine alone at the table.

Back at the villa, Jasmine overhears Simon comforting Sarah through the master bedroom door, asking whether her leg matters more than Jasmine's mood. In the bathroom, her fist closes around a crushed pregnancy test, and the question surfaces: would this child also matter less than Sarah's leg? The next morning brings only a diamond necklace and a note, another apology she no longer feels.

When Sarah visits and asks about the bracelet Jasmine never removes, Jasmine finds it gone from the bathroom sink. With only Sarah, the housekeeper Jessica Hoffman, and herself in the villa, she is left demanding where it went.
