Story
The story
Aurora has spent five cycles beside her mate Roderic Ashthorne, a humble lore-keeper who never brought her blooms or moonstone, never warmth in their den. When she carries his pup, he waves off her examination at the Healing Hall, pleading long hours of lore-work. The other she-wolves call him loyal and tell her to be grateful.
Then Aurora sees him across the open ground, dressed in fine pelts, lifting a young performing Omega, Seraphine Velvetmoor, into a black obsidian carriage. Through a blocked feed she learns the truth: Roderic is co-owner of a great pack, and his fortune, journeys and tenderness have always belonged to Seraphine. The bracelet he once gave Aurora was Seraphine's discarded trinket.
While Seraphine carries his pup and receives a riverside den, Aurora washes his worn things by hand. She saves every proof and visits a Beta advocate, then accepts an offer to lead the Silvercrest Pack's territory-strengthening endeavor across the ocean. In five days she will vanish from his life.
