Story

The story

Ethan has a severe germaphobia and refuses to touch any woman he considers unclean, yet his wife Gia has stayed through eight years of marriage and five rounds of IVF to bear their daughter Mia. Their deal was simple: he could do as he pleased outside, so long as he kept his mess away from their child.

Then Mia comes home from preschool talking about Daddy's teddy bear, which makes noises and calls him Daddy only when she is asleep. The bet behind those noises, and the message from a contact saved as Baby, shatter the last of Gia's restraint. When Chloe arrives at the villa in a nightgown and violence follows, Gia's bottom line is crossed.

Gia has drafted the divorce papers before. This time she means to see them signed.

Opening excerpt

He had a severe germaphobia and refused to touch any woman he considered "unclean."

Once, a woman had undergone hymenoplasty trying to climb into Ethan's bed.

The moment he saw through her, she was run out of town overnight.

I assumed Chloe would face the same fate. That was until a video of Ethan spending a fortune, falling to his knees, and begging her to take him back went viral on Instagram.

Only then did I realize he had truly fallen in love this time.
