The Price of His Blindness

A weekend outing to the city aquarium turns into a public humiliation for a wife and her mother-in-law. A glamorous stranger, addressed as Miss Li, accuses them of bumping her limited-edition purse and orders them out, claiming her husband built the aquarium and that she rules there. The wife freezes: the aquarium was developed by her husband, Brandon Zhou. When the older woman protests that Brandon is her son and that his lawfully wedded wife stands before them, Miss Li laughs at the plain canvas tote and the modest clothes, insisting the real Mrs. Zhou Senior lives in seclusion and the real wife attends high-end galas.

As onlookers gather, Miss Li flashes Brandon's private number and offers to call him. Manager Miller arrives, fawns over the distinguished guest and orders the two women removed. The wife and her mother-in-law, who left their phones at home, cannot prove who they are. The older woman, shaking with outrage, demands that Miller call Brandon and put him on speaker. The call fails, and Miss Li reaches for her own phone.
