The Surgeon's Wife He Threw Away

Five months pregnant, Aria sends her prenatal scan to her husband Chester Simmons, the head of cardiothoracic surgery. The reply comes fast and cruel: get the procedure done and try again later. A cash gift follows. When she goes to his department, she learns he has spent two months consumed by the mother of Claire Delgado, an intern. Claire even hands her a food container, praising the chicken soup Aria makes, the same soup Chester had asked her to bring daily so he could pass it off as his own. Aria schedules the procedure. After the induced labor, bleeding forces her to be admitted. Chester finally calls, asking why there is no chicken soup. At her bedside he is angry about the hospital bed, until she tells him she lost the baby. He insists he never sent those messages; he had let Claire answer for him. Aria points at the words that condemned her child. Chester falls silent, phone in hand.
