I Renovated My Boyfriend’s Wedding Home,Only to Find the Bride Was My Best Friend

For four years Carla Finch has waited for her boyfriend Merlin Fisher to mention marriage, only to learn the truth while designing a marital home for a client: the groom is Merlin, and the bride is her best friend Virginia Sullivan. Merlin's mother, Joanna Fisher, happily shows off the wedding photos, and Carla realizes he never wanted to marry her at all.

That night Carla tells her mother she will meet the marriage prospect Jesse Baxter, then opens Merlin's laptop and finds two years of messages with Virginia, including plans made while Carla was in surgery. She saves the evidence and quietly arranges for Virginia's promotion and overseas training to be withdrawn.

At the apartment, Carla steers Joanna toward an expensive solid-wood design that Virginia hates, and when she runs into the couple, they lie about overtime. At dinner, Virginia serves spicy hot pot; Carla mentions her polyp surgery, and both of them freeze.
