Story
The story
Ethan has always mocked Megan under the guise of jokes, and on her birthday he humiliates her in front of his friends by projecting her private photos and listing her flaws. When his friend Liam speaks up for her, Ethan only sneers, and the room laughs along. Megan finally stands and ends it, telling Ethan she will not depend on him or take the job at his company, and that they are breaking up.
Ethan refuses to take her seriously, certain she cannot leave him. But Megan calls her father and arranges to go abroad with her grandmother, asking that Ethan's family not be told. She deletes his messages and throws away everything he gave her, including the bloodstained school uniform from the day he once protected her.
At a gathering the next evening, she collides with a server and is drenched in spilled drinks as someone begins to speak.
