Behind the Family: Regretful Father and Love

Fifteen years after the divorce, Xavier and her mother have built a quiet life, until a knock at dawn brings Yoel, the father who abandoned them, seated in a wheelchair and wearing a cheerful smile. Beside him stands Jasmin Zimmerman, a family adviser from Station A, who insists that Xavier must care for the ailing old man. Xavier remembers the beatings, the hunger, the miscarriage, and the wilderness where he left her at seven, and she refuses.

When Janetta, her mother, sees Yoel again, she trembles at the return of a nightmare she thought was over. Xavier orders both visitors out, but Yoel curses her from the corridor, and Jasmin turns the story around on her television show, painting mother and daughter as selfish and heartless. Online, strangers condemn them.

Xavier will not forgive, and she will not forget. She promises her mother that Yoel will be punished, and she intends to make him regret everything in despair.
