Story

The story

Chloe lives alone in her one-bedroom apartment, a sanctuary where she works as a freelance illustrator. When her boyfriend Austin asks her to let Mia, a family friend, crash at her place for a few days, Chloe hesitates. Austin insists he doesn't want another woman in his own apartment, and his sweet words soothe her doubts. She agrees.

But the moment Austin drops Mia off, King, the stray tabby Chloe always feeds, paces frantically around her feet. Chloe can understand animals, and King warns her that Austin and Mia are plotting to steal her home and her art, and that Mia carries a strange little bottle in her bag. When another neighborhood cat confirms the pair searched Chloe's desk and property deed, her trust shatters.

Now Chloe must hide what she knows, keep her composure, and uncover the truth before the two guests make their move.
