I Married My Sworn Enemy After Being Betrayed

Alessia has forgiven Rafael twice, but when his dancer Nina carries his heir, he demands she raise the child as her own. On the night of their engagement party, he pins her against a desk, begging her to let the baby be born safely. Bleeding from a broken vase, Alessia gives him a Brooklyn address, then calls Giovanni Russo, Rafael's sworn enemy, offering control of the Newark Port shipping routes in exchange for his help. On what should have been her wedding day, she leaves Rafael at the altar and walks into the church on Giovanni's arm, while Rafael's men tear apart the manor. Her father warns that Giovanni, head of the Russo family, nearly pushed her off a cliff in Sicily, but Alessia laughs: she wants to marry him to make his life a living hell. At the penthouse she once shared with Rafael, she finds oil paintings of Nina and a photograph of the couple, and when Nina kneels to beg forgiveness, Rafael orders Alessia to apologize.
