Celebration Turned Betrayal

At a champagne banquet celebrating a thirty-million-dollar contract, Sophia Carter is slapped by Emily Johnson, her boss's assistant, who accuses her of stealing a treasured bottle of Cristal. Her fiancé, Daniel Walker, the boss, strikes her too and orders the clients out, and the deal collapses. When Sophia rushes to apologize, she is removed from the team chat and locked out of the office; Emily has fired her.

Sophia takes the contract to her childhood friend, Michael Harris, who makes her a partner at his firm, Apex Corporation. Daniel and Emily confront her at a hotel banquet, accusing her of cheating, though the signboard welcomes her to Apex. Daniel rages that she joined his competitor and demands she consider his feelings.

Sophia, who gave years of devotion to Daniel, now questions what she ever meant to him.
