The Talking House's Deadly Secret

Lydia Dickerson and Percy Harding have been together six years, saving for a wedding home. When their budget leads them to a thirty-year-old flat, Percy is furious, calling it a dump and threatening to end things if she buys it. Then an aged voice fills Lydia's mind, revealing that a hundred pounds of gold is hidden in the wall and three million in cash sits in the ceiling — tens of millions hidden in a place priced at eight hundred grand.

As Lydia tries to keep her discovery secret, the owner's neighbour Sylvia Jennings arrives, ready to outbid her with cash in hand. Percy storms out, warning that if she signs, they are finished. Lydia signs anyway, agreeing to pay a million within three days, and claims she only wants the antique bed.

With her savings far short and her relationship on the line, Lydia must find the money before the deadline — and keep the house's deadly secret from everyone circling it.
