The Ex-Husband Wanted Me Back

Alicia wakes in a hospital bed after nearly drowning in a pool, alone. When she reaches for her phone to tell her husband Charles she is awake, a message from Amanda shows a photo of the two of them sharing a meal while she lay unconscious. Amanda claims Charles was too worried to eat, and that she had to persuade him.

Charles arrives an hour later, frowning and impatient. He calls her childish for competing with a younger girl, and repeats Edward's claim that she jumped into the pool herself. Alicia knows someone pushed her, but Charles will not believe her. That night, Amanda sends a picture of Charles's jacket, left at her home near midnight, and boasts of the time they spent together.

On the day Alicia is discharged, Charles asks why she has not replied to Amanda, then freezes when she mentions the jacket. He admits he lied about working overtime to stay with Amanda. Alicia says nothing on the ride home, and Charles takes her silence for anger.
