Longing for the Unreachable

A wife is six years older than Bernard Jackman, and he has always told her he is lucky to have married her. His devotion seems endless: he learns to cook her favorite soup, waits in her lobby when she works late, takes her to Westmere Coast, and proposes under custom fireworks. She believes they will be happy forever.

Then a message on his phone reveals another woman, and a mango cake he brings home nearly kills her, for he once swore he would never let mango near her again. She follows him to a villa, photographs him with a woman in a maid's costume, and records a call in which he promises to stay the night. He claims he must travel for work, yet the other woman posts their trips, meals and gifts online.

She saves every post and tells no one, quietly deciding what to do with a love that was never real.
