The story
Ten years after Evelyn Hayes was executed by lethal injection, her husband Liam, an undefeated defense attorney, receives a kidnapper's call: he has twenty-four hours to overturn her conviction, or his protégée Chloe will be killed. He races to their old house, certain Evelyn faked her death to torment him, but the cemetery groundskeeper and the police confirm she died a decade ago.
As the deadline shrinks, Liam hunts Evelyn through the burned orphanage where she grew up and the home of the shattered director, Mr. Davis, beating the old man for answers. Only Evelyn, a ghost watching him, knows the truth: Chloe sabotaged her appeal, and the orphanage fire was Chloe's doing.
Liam refuses to believe she is dead, and Chloe's captor keeps calling. Evelyn can only scream unheard as the hours run out.
