Five Years, Three Canceled Weddings, One Goodbye

Twice Nora Quimby's wedding to Stanley Delgado has been postponed, each time because his childhood friend Brenna Whitfield objected — first to the date, then to the groom's suit. Now, three days before the third attempt, Brenna curls her lip at the red roses and calls them tacky, and Stanley orders the wedding pushed back again.

Nora has spent years apologizing, redrawing dates, and stitching a suit by hand, only to watch Stanley's eyes follow Brenna. When his friends mock her and he demands she apologize, she finally stops arguing. She opens her mother's message about an arranged marriage and agrees to come home.

Stanley's phone rings: Brenna has been in an accident. He hurries away down the rose-lined path, leaving Nora to decide whether this wedding is worth keeping at all.
