Her Cold Heart: Left to Rot in the Dark

Cole dies in a pitch-black basement after his sister Evelyn, head of the Vance Coven, performs a forbidden Heart Transfer Ritual to give his healthy heart to their adopted brother Jonah. Organ rejection tortures him to death, and his soul, bound to Evelyn, watches her dote on Jonah while believing Cole is merely sulking. The old butler Thomas finally reveals that Cole never ran away — he has been locked in his room for a month without food or water. Evelyn dismisses it as a childish hunger strike and demands Cole apologize to Jonah before she will let him out. Only Cole's ghost knows the truth: he is already dead, his body rotting, and the Siren's Wax Candle he spent a month crafting for Evelyn was the gift Jonah stole and used to frame him.
