Story
The story
On a bitter December night, Sienna Reed forces her eighty-year-old tenant, Mrs. Elaine Caldwell, out of the condo she owns and into the rain, ignoring the pleas of her husband, Leo Grant, and her mother-in-law, Donna. She insists the unit is hers alone, left by her brother Dean, and that she may end any lease without reason.
When Leo calls the Property Manager, Mr. Mendez, the owner's legal right is confirmed and no one intervenes. Leo photographs Mrs. Caldwell soaked and hunched outside, posting it to the community group chat, where neighbors erupt in fury and demand Sienna be driven out.
As the accusations flood in, Sienna posts the unit for rent and watches the insults refresh, her fingers trembling slightly.
